These are privately rented accommodation flats that are provided by certain landlords/landladies. All the flats are shared and the gas & electricity bills are shared by the students staying in the house. In some cases, the student may have to stay with the landlord/landlady. Some of these are located near the campus, some are a bus/car ride away. Depending on the location, the cost varies from 50pounds/week to 65pounds/week. These figures are excluding the energy (gas & electricity) bills.
